Sunday February 22, 2015 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Sunday February 22, 2015 – Buenos Aires, Argentina

We docked at 8 am.  Our tour to the estancia (ranch) was scheduled to leave at 10 a.m. but we left early.  Vera was our guide and gave a lot of historical information, especially about the corruption in Argentina.  We drove north through Buenos Aires and saw many sites.  There were lots of people out jogging on Sunday
The ranch was Estancia Santa Susana – great fun.  We were met with glasses of wine and hot  empanadas that were yummy.  Tim went and rode a horse and I went on a buggy ride.  It was fun.

Downtown Buenos Aires - the English Clock Tower - whoops, no longer called "English"

A beautiful plant wall in Buenos Aires

Statues galore - hundreds of them

Yummy BBQ on the grill at the estancia

My buggy driver - he was a character

The gaucho brought "the ring" over to Barbara Filippi at my urging

and she had to give him a kiss . . .

then she showed off "her ring"!  Fun

The gauchos who performed for us

The musicians at the estancia were excellent and very entertaining

We had a great lunch – including steak, sausage, blood sausage, and then dancing.  Great fun.  A gaucho did the ropes with balls on them.  They had tango dancers and musicians.

It was an enjoyable day.  We we got back to the ship we went up for drinks and then we left at 7 for the Tango Show at Vendetta in Buenos Aires.  It was great.  So dramatic.
The stage for the tango show - no pictures were allowed during the show!

The beautiful theatre where the tango show was held.

We were stuffed from the lunch at the ranch that we came back to the ship and had room service and then went to bed.
