Wednesday February 25, 2015 – Montevideo, Uruguay

We arrived in Montevideo at.  Breakfast at 9 and we headed out for a walking tour of downtown at 10:30.  It’s not quite as hot today in Montevideo.  We found a walking tour in the map of Montevideo that we had so we set out to the city and followed it.  Great pedestrian streets.  Nice architecture but crumbling in many places.  Beautiful parks.  We got to Independence Square and then headed to the waterfront to walk on Las Ramblas.  It was hotter out in the sun, but we had a good walk. 

I thought we could get to the “Montevideo” sign by the waterfront but it was too far.  We headed back into the city and stopped by all of the BarBeQue restaurants that had lots of meat cooking next to huge fire pits.  Interesting.  We opted to head back to the ship for lunch so we wouldn’t be tempted to eat so much (again!).

On arrival the ship asked us to stop by reception.  They had discovered that we still had the same key cards that indicated we had a drink package but we hadn’t extended the package for the “second cruise”.  I took care of that and we went to the Grill for lunch and sat outside.

By this time it was almost 2 pm so we relaxed, read and napped.  We went to High Tea at 4 and enjoyed talking to Meghan there.

We went for drinks about 7 and then to the dining room at 8:15 for dinner.  Tonight is the Rory Johnston and Murphy the Wonder Dog Show – we are going to miss it.  I told Meghan at tea that it was the stupidest show I’ve ever seen in my life. 

Tim and I started a “new approach” on this leg of the voyage.  No unwarranted criticisms, no letting other passengers or the crew get under our skin, more tolerance and patience.  If we violate this we owe each other $100.  Tim says I owe $100 for my criticism of the Wonder Dog – but it was completely warranted.  Really – the stupidest show I’ve ever seen!  Not getting me again tonight.
