Tuesday February 24, 2015 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
We got up about 8 and Tim went to work out.
We left for Buenos Aires at 10:30 . The piers were mobbed with people as there
are 3 ships in. There was a huge queue waiting for taxis, but we got one. We went to La Boca to see the tango dancers
in the street. We walked around to look
at the colorful houses, shops, restaurants, bars, and dancers. We stopped for a glass of wine and people
watched in the main intersection.
We then started walking from La Boca toward the city. It was Hot.
We passed the soccer stadium where people were standing in line for a
game. We got to the main street and kept
walking toward the area where the locks are with lots of restaurants. It was really hot today.

Lots of interesting things scattered throughout La Boca
Yet another monument - in La Boca
Famous small, colorful store - this time with Pope Francis waving from the balcony!
Lots of musicians sitting around!!!

We stopped at an Italian restaurant for lunch and enjoyed
ham with cheese, a great pasta dish and a seafood salad. All with a great bottle of Argentinian white
wine. We finished lunch and got a taxi
back to the port. It was smooth sailing
back inside although there were lots of people waiting around in the terminal.

We relaxed and napped during the afternoon. At 6 I went up on deck for sail away and Tim
dressed for dinner. He joined me and we
had champagne and enjoyed the band and singers.
As the ship was untying and getting ready to leave I showered and
dressed and then we went to Horizons for more champagne with Putu. We met 3 nice people from Tuscaloosa,
Alabama.
We had dinner at 7:30 in Toscanas. Mr. Santos was working there as maître
d’. Great dinner.
We got an after dinner drink from Putu and then went to the
Lounge for the show with Mark Bouchet, the Argentinian singer and
guitarist. He was really good. At the end of the show we found out that Rory
Johnston and Murphy the Wonder Dog are performing again tomorrow night – we’ll
definitely miss that show!
Then it was time for bed.
A great last day in Buenos Aires.
Tonight we are sailing to Montevideo, Uruguay.
